New to the Stash, by way of the Big Apple

I like to call New York City the Big Chocolate Bar. It's where I go to stock up on new goodness for blog.

Actually, I don't call it. Forgive my lame attempt at humor, if you will. It's been an exhausting week. The prospect of enjoying some chocolate delight from Crumbs Bake Shop, for one, has helped. Hubby and I split a rich Chocolate Praline cupcake last night - there's a dollop of ganache in the middle, and the pecans in the frosting were nice and toasty. As I understand it, too, the average Crumbs cupcake is about 19 Weight Watchers points apiece. Not conducive to my weight loss journey, but as this was Mother's Day weekend I'm still "lost" technically until all the food I brought home is gone.

What did I bring back to review for later posts? Glad you asked! I hit the Chelsea Market, a favorite spot, and the market at Grand Central Station for these nibbles:

Moderne Kashmir Spice (51%) - Butter toffee infused with cardamom, cinnamon and cloves. I haven't had a cardamom bar since Kschocolat, so I'm looking forward to this.

Mast Brothers Dark (70%) with Almonds, Sea Salt and Olive Oil - Apparently these are only found in the city at certain locations, unless you live in any of these towns.

TCHO Assortment - I like to buy sample squares, as they are more conducive to reviewing. Will try one of these soon.

Eurocrem Blok - Polish bar bought on Arthur Avenue. Looks like a milk.

Ulker Albeni - From what I'm finding, this is the eastern European equivalent of Twix, only better. We'll soon see.

Askinosie Chocolate - 70% single origin dark, made in Missouri. The chocolate doesn't come from there, of course. Looks like Missouri is fast becoming the center of artisan bars.

Leonidas Assortment - I have four mini squares of this brand, these should go quickly.

There are a number of bars ahead of these, though. Will have to do some major catching up on the reviews. My stomach is fluttering just thinking about it.
